    • Summary on feedback
      • Did the workshop meet your expectations?
        • 11 YES. 0 NO
      • Did the workshop motivate you to work on the VO integration of your service or data?
        • 10 YES
        • 1 NO. The integration of our data in the VO was already in our plan.

What would you add to, what would you drop from the programme?

  • The documentation and the installation guidelines should be provided with some time in advance.
  • Include in the programme a session to solve the problems/doubts that came up during the installation.

  • Include a presentation on the basic technical concepts used by the publishing tools (Tomcat, Apache, PsotgreSQL,...) that may not be familiar to the participants with a pure astronomical background.

  • Include a presentation on the VO jargon (registries, UCDs, access protocols - SIAP, SSAP, TAP,...) for the participants not familiar with the Virtual Observatory.

  • Include a presentation describing the software architecture and components of the publishing tools.

  • It is proposed to prepare a linux virtual machine to get rid of the problems encountered when installing the applications in other OS (e.g. Mac). Nonetheless, it is remarked that this would be a good approach for the workshop but the problem would persist once the participant comes back to his/her institute. Therefore, we recommend every participant to try the installation in his/her own operating system.

  • The possibility of having a public repository to get the tools was also discussed. For the time being, SVO has decided not to make public the tools. They will be announced in different forums and VO pages and those interested in using them should contact SVO staff who will provide the software and documentation.

  • The possibility of using other platforms for the tools (e.g. Python) was raised. Although this is desirable, the problem of the lack of manpower in the SVO group to maintain and improve versions in different platforms makes it a second priority task.
  • It was felt that the comparison with other VO publishing tools was not the primary purpose of the workshop. In future editions, this topic can be considered if there are publication requirements identified by  the Spanish VO community that are not covered by the SVO tools.
  • It was decided to build a mailing list as a mechanism to ease and promote the interaction among the Spanish astronomical data provider community.
  • The general feeling was in favour of organizing a similar meeting in the future provided that there are new tools/functionalities to show and/or new participants.

  • 17:45 Bus leaves from CAB-Villafranca to hotel T3-Tirol
